Bought ages ago in South Africa I really was wondering about the state of the wine, which is 12 years old and to my surprise the wine is in perfect conditions, not oxidated at all with fruit transformed to jammed tones accompanied by nice spices and coffee tones supported by hint of vanilla. I checked and 2002 vintage was quite cool allowing very slow ripening of grapes.

Comparing to Welsh Riesling tasted in December 2013 from the same winery and vintage this Chardonnay is not as good as that. It is quite neutral in the nose and gentle less tropical in the mouth.

very different from 2011 vintage tasted at the same time, which is from different sub-appellation(Slovácko). This is less zesty, less mineral and more fruity and grapey. I very much prefer the previous example.
