Tesco Finest Block 13 Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Bouquet: quite fruity, blackberries, black currant and black sour cherries are accompanied by nice black chocolate and almost box of cigars tones, when opened for 40 minutes it shows more of toast tones
Taste: full body, huge fruit dominat is blackberries followed by black currant, very round, some pepper, still young tannins, medium to longer finish
Recommended food pairing: juicy medium rare steak
Overall score: 4+8+12+6+6+50=86

Wine made for Tesco by St. Hallett wines and Toby Barlow winemaker is very good value/price ratio for new world wine drinkers. Still young to me, but I will get few more bottles to see the ageing potential. what is the pity being in Tanunda we missed the winery completely :-)

  1. Actually, you found a Czech article in a wine magazine which mentioned St Hallet. I did not know about it before, hence it fell off our list of wineries while in Tanunda!
