Good example of Pinot Blanc in perfect bottle maturity.

Chateau Fillion Bordeaux 1999 AOC

Tasted only a few months ago, this was fantastic. This time round I decanted the wine. Unlike the last tasting, I expected something impressive. Some discussion around scoring and on consensus, we would rate this 88-89.

Tierra y Hombre Pinot Noir 2011

Tasted only last month with the same results.

Mikrosvín Mikulov Ryzlink vlašský 2001 pozdní sběr

Variety: 100% Welsh Riesling,
Country of origin: Czech Republic
Wine appellation: Moravia, Mikulov sub-appellation, Březí village, Liščí Vrch vineyard
Vintage: 2001
Alcohol content: 12.7%
Color: Medium yellow
Bouquet: Very expressive, with a greater emphasis of minerality with secondary notes of dried fruits especially lime and dried herbs. Some aged bottle nose as well.
Taste: Medium body, very mineral and wonderful length. Sustained, gentle . Lime and walnut characters with excellent aged bottle notes.
Recommended food pairing: Veal schnitzel
Overall score: 88
Price: ~CZK 200 in 2004
Stopper: cork
Although scored the same as the previous wine, this one has a slightly better bouquet and length but overall taste profile is not as expressive as the previous one.

Seneca Ryzlink vlašský 2005 pozdní sběr

Variety: 100% Welsh Riesling, 
Country of origin: Czech Republic
Wine appellation: Moravia, Mikulov sub-appellation
Vintage: 2005
Alcohol content: 13.0%
Color: Straw yellow
Bouquet: Very expressive, concentrated dried fruits especially dried lemon peel, honey, some walnut and minerality. Some aged bottle nose as well.
Taste: Medium body, very mineral with good length. Candied lemon and orange providing zestiness even with matured acidity. Lovely balance. A great example of properly aged Welsh Riesling. 
Recommended food pairing: Veal schnitzel

I quite like Welsh Riesling, especially from Mikulov area and this is a good example of very nicely drinkable balanced and properly aged WR.



Les Maitres Goustiers Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2007 AOC

Bouquet: quite neutral, white flowers, citrus
Taste: light to medium body, lime, citrus tones, pith, medium finish
Recommended food pairing: fish, seafood

Price: CZK 150 in 2008
Stopper: cork
Interesting when compared to the previous Muscadet tasted here this one is more limey/acidic and less bready. It's a more easy going wine. Tasted back in April 2010, it has aged and developed much since then.
