Viña Tarapacá Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva 2003

It was so excellent that 2nd bottle must have been opened as the bar was very high and I did not want to have any disappointment.

Viña Tarapacá Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva 2003

Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Country of origin: Chille
Wine appellation: Maipo valley
Vintage: 2003
Alcohol content: 13.5%
Color: deep black red with lighter meniscus
Bouquet: expressive, black currant jam, blackberry, touch of vanilla
Taste: medium to full body, very good structure, nively round and with integrated smmoth tannins, similar to taste prevailing is black currant jam accompanied by black chocolate, roastedwoody tones are well integrated and are almost invisible, tangy, medium to longer finish
Recommended food pairing: T-bone steak
Overall score: 4+8+13+7+8=90
Price: CZK 299 in 2005
Stopper: corkAbsolutely stunning wine. it has everything you would expect from Cab Sauv. Totally black color considering the vintage showed that it must have been black ink when young. This is one of my treasure from the celler.  I am delighted how well it developed. I recently tasted the same Gran reserve 2008 vintage and it was nowhere near this one. The wine was 12 months in new French oak barrels.
P.S.look of the label is the same as this 1999 vintage i found on the web
