I think Sunrise is one of the best value wins on the market. Initially it is very fruity, but if you allow it to settle a bit in the cellar it will really improve, which I guess almost no one does:-)

Very lime and sharp acidity style SB with less of white currant and no peach sometimes found in Sauvignons. This would be preferable for lovers of more and less fruit driven style of SB and I 'd say this is no party wine rather gastronomic.

Nothing to complain about it, very young though and slightly disjoint, but already drinkable. It will improve over 2-5 years.

Viña Maipo Vitral Carmenere Reserva 2013

Variety: Carmenere

Country of origin: Chile
Wine appellation: Rapel Valley
Vintage: 2013
Alcohol content: 13.5%

Stopper: single piece cork
The wine needs at least 2 hours to open up, initially very restrained and I'd say quite green pepper in the nose is very dominant. Later in the nose opens up with the sour cherries, chocolate and hint of smoke also to pop out. Surgically very precise Carmenere with good portion of oak barrel.

Ernest & Julio Gallo Family Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

9th bottle of 2006 vintage tasted. The notes are the same as in June 2014.

Moravíno Valtice Ryzlink vlašský 2012 pozdní sběr

Overall score: 3.5+7+10.5+6+6.5=83.5
Price: CZK  180
Stopper: single piece cork
This is more food and heavy rounder style of Welsh Riesling, it still has decent acidity, but it is not as crispy and mineral as one would expect. I will check 2013 vintage, which should be crispier and fresher style due to cold 2013 vintage.

Moravíno Valtice Chardonnay 2013 pozdní sběr

Variety: 100% Chardonnay

Country of origin:Czech Republic
Wine appellation: Moravia, Mikulov sub-appellation, Mikulov village, Pod valtickou vineyard

Fresh, clean and lively Chard with good acidity of 2013 vintage. I slightly downgraded the nose as there is still a bit of yeasty aroma, which will disappear upon ageing. For interest compare this vintage to w from the same vineyard , but from the hot 2011 vintage tasted in August 2014.

Moravíno Valtice Grand Cuveé bílé 2013 pozdní sběr

Variety: Chardonnay, Riesling

Country of origin: Czech Republic
Wine appellation: Moravia, Mikulov sub-appellation, Mikulov village, Pod Mušlovem village
Vintage: 2013
Alcohol content: 13.0%
Color: pale yellow
Bouquet: apricot, linden tree blossom, white peach, green melon
Taste: medium body, quite neutral, lime, apricot, peach, it feels with slightly less structure in the mid profile and a bit sweeter than dry, however with nice medium to longer finish
Recommended food pairing: matured sheep cheese
Overall score: 4+7+11+6+7=85
Price: CZK 200
Stopper: single piece cork
It actually really resembles the varieties in the nose with the green melon, peach of Chard and apricot of Riesling. Based on the nose it feels slightly more Riesling based, I checked the residual sugar and yes I was right despite the wine being classified as dry it has 7.8g/l residua sugar, which is noticeable and slightly offset by with higher acidity due to cold 2013 vintage.

MVZ Bzenec Ego No.57 Rulandské šedé, Rulandské bílé, Chardonnay 2005 pozdní sběr

Price: CZK 200
Stopper: single piece cork
One of the best wine tasted from 2013 vintage and for sure the best from Moravino of that year. Superb crispy acidity is nicely accompanying high extract and mineral character of the wine. Recently I tasted from the same vineyard 2006 vintage with 90 points. This sure is the best candidate for cellaring.

Comparing to 2011 unoaked Pinot Blanc tasted at the same time, this Chard feels slightly more restrained in the nose, but with better mouth profile due to superb acidity (cold vintage) and longer lingering finish. Good candidate for additional purchase as I have only one more bottle in the cellar.

Fuller rounder style of PB representing very hot 2011 vintage. Despite that is has very good fresh and fruity nose without the alcohol being visible, quite extractive in the taste.

Fruit driven PN from very hot vintage, despite the alcohol being quite high it does not stand out. The wine feels quite young at this point and will need some time to settle down. I have one more bottle to check:-)
