Variety: Carmenere

Country of origin: Chile
Wine appellation: Rapel Valley
Vintage: 2013
Alcohol content: 13.5%
Color: dark ruby red
Bouquet: ripe sour cherries, hint of green pepper, black chocolate, hint of smoke
Taste: medium body, very fruit driven style, black sour cherries is the major fruit nicely rounded up by black chocolate and light tannins with good spiciness, medium to longer finish
Recommended food pairing: dry salami
Overall score: 4+8+12+6.5+7+50=87.5
Price: CZK 279
Stopper: single piece cork
The wine needs at least 2 hours to open up, initially very restrained and I'd say quite green pepper in the nose is very dominant. Later in the nose opens up with the sour cherries, chocolate and hint of smoke also to pop out. Surgically very precise Carmenere with good portion of oak barrel.
