Rosemount Estate Rosemount Road Shiraz 2005
5th bottle of this wine tasted. Looking at my notes from April 2013 the wine is pretty much the same, already in advanced state of the bottle maturity, where primary fruit character is transformed to marmalade with significant spicy and coffee element with nice tones of chocolate.

The wine is clearly behind its zenith, yet still drinkable with very nice finish. I guess the major reason for the oxidation is the plastic cork.

Very nice Pinot Blanc on the sweet side of the spectrum, the age helped it to get the proper balance between the sugar, acidity and the bottle matured tones. Went very well with Grana Padano and orange marmelade.

The wine shows already bottle maturity tones, it did not develop into this nice herby mineral profile, rather still fruity with more dry fruits, but without extra further complexity and herby character present in the higher Traditional line.

6th bottle of this wine tasted. The wine is developing very nicely in the cellar. It is fresh, with good acidity and nice oak, all perfectly integrated into one compact very nice experience. For comparison check my notes from December 2014 with the pics. Was lucky that I bought 2 cases. One case is finished. The bottle actually drinks very very fast.

7th bottle of this wine tasted. Looking at my previous tasting notes the wine grew to its perfection. Superb minerality style, zero oxidative tones (the cork is soaked 1mm only!). This bottle is proof that Welsh Riesling needs its time and the best terroir is Mikulov, anywhere else the variety is rather mediocre. Why to grow other varieties than Welsh Riesling and Palava there, isn't waste of the potential of the the land? For labels please refer to my tasting notes from last year.

Just OK, I miss the acidity and the wine seems on its decline despite being sealed with the screw cap.
