It is interesting to compare this 1999 vintage to 1998 vintage I tasted about two weeks ago here. This vintage is much more fruity than 1998 although I would not expect that much of a difference. It has dominant black sour cherries character both in nose and taste accompanied by nice wood tones. Similar to 1998 , which I consider to be more of finesse wine, they both have longer finish. Being Gran Reserva it was vinified for at least 2 years in American oak barrels.
