Vertical degustation of Bodega Catena Zapata Tupungato Chardonnay: 2009

Variety: Chardonnay
Country of origin: Argentina
Wine appellation: Mendoza, Uco Valley, Tupungato mountain
Vintage: 2010
Alcohol content: 13.5%
Color: light to medium yellow
Bouquet: grilled pineapple, vanilla, feels fuller and heavier than 2010 vintage
Taste: medium body, rounder and fuller style than 2010, similar to nose there is overripe pineapple, orange marmalade, lower acidity, at the end slight bitterness, medium to longer finish
Recommended food pairing: chicken in cream sauce, salmon
Overall score: 4+7+11+6+6=84
Price: CZK 199
Stopper: cork
Comparing to 2010 this is heavier, less fresh and slightly more boring on its own, however with food it would be very good. We had both wines with salmon on it went very well. In the picture 2009 vintage is on the right.
