Domaine A. Cailbourdin Cuveé Triptuque Pouilly Fumé 2007 AOC

Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Country of origin: France
Wine appellation: Pouilly Fumé
Vintage: 2007
Alcohol content: 12.5%
Colorstraw yellow
Bouquet: canned gooseberry, already showing hint of bottle aged tones
Taste: medium body, very round, canned gooseberry and pineapple, more towards tropical fruit, medium to longer finish
Overall score: 4+7+11+6+6+50=84
Price: CZK 890
Stopper: single piece cork
Compared to 2009 vintage this one has more bottle aged tones and canned fruit. I scored them the same but it would depend on personal preference as I quite like bottle aged wines.

  1. It is usual that wines from this region are aged?

  2. I also asked the same question the winemaker and he told me yes, especially his flagship bottle such as this. Apparently it can be aged for 7 years easily.
