Plantagenet Hazard Hill Shiraz 2005

Variety: Shiraz with splash of Grenache
Country of origin: Australia
Wine appellation: Western Australia
Vintage: 2005
Alcohol content: 14.5%
Color: deep blackish garnet red
Bouquet: spice, forest fruit preserve, coffee, chocolate tones
Taste: medium to full body, similar to node the dominant play has a forest fruit preserve, mainly blackberries, supported by hint of black cherries, further one we can find nice coffee tones with slight touch of vanilla and licorice, pleasant rounded tannins, medium to longer finish (at the very end slightly alcoholic)
Recommended food pairing: sausage
Overall score: 4+8+12+6+6=86
Price: CZK 300
Stopper: screw cap
It is very interesting if you compare it to tasting of the same wine, but 03 vintage in February 2010. This vintage, although pretty much the same (or slightly higher) bottle maturity is slightly more fresh and less chocolate style. This is clearly due to screw cap stopper, which shows that even red wines can age very well under it, despite the opposition of traditionalists.
