Jacob's Creek Shiraz Cabernet 2001

Bouquet: very very nice, gentle, forest fruit preserve, lots of sweet spices, cedar wood, coffee
Taste: medium body, round, sweet nad gentle tannins, similar to nose forest fruit preserve, spices (but not black pepper), medium to longer finish
Recommended food pairing: venison

Stopper: single piece cork
What was amazing on this wine was the nose. It was so nicely structured with fruits being recognizable only in jam form followed by sweet spices, and cedar wood. The taste could not keep up and I thinks it is starting going down from the peak. Cork despite the 12 years is soaked only 2 mm:-). Last time I tasted this was in January 2012.

  1. I don't think anyone seriously thought this wine would be drunk more than 10 years later when it was produced! Interesting development.
