Country of origin: Czech Republic
Wine appellation: Moravia, Velké Pavlovice sub appellation, Krumvíř village
Vintage: 1983
Alcohol content: 12.5%
Color: light garnet with orange meniscus
Bouquet: hint of strawberry jam, noticeable bottle maturity (no oxidation), hint of animal tones
Taste: light to medium body, granate apple, cranberries, amazingly good acidity considering the vintage, medium finish
Overall score: 4+7+11+5+6+50=83
Price: gift
Stopper: pressed from cork pieces with sides from one piece cork
It was definitely interesting to drink Pinot 20 years old. What is explaining the freshness is the fact that the wine aged in tank and was bottled recently, otherwise I believe it would be pretty much gone. Still very nice experience to taste such an old Pinot.
