Vinařství Gala Pinot Noir 2011

Variety: Pinot Noir
Country of origin: Czech Republic
Wine appellation: Moravia, Mikulov sub-appellation, cuvée from Pod Svatým kopečkem vineyard (Mikulov) and Hermesdorf (Perná)
Vintage: 2011
Alcohol content: 14.0%
Color: medium ruby red (darker for Pinot)
Bouquet: cherries, sour cherries, hint of smoke
Taste: medium body,  sour cherries, toast, slightly higher tannins with good acidity, medium to longer finish
Overall score: 4+8+11+6+6+50=85
Price: CZK 450
Stopper: single piece cork
Quite young at this stage, but this is Pinot with good potential for aging it has good tannins and acidity that will round up in 3 to 5 years. The only problem is the price, there are better Pinots in Moravia especially from Velkopavlovicka appelation, which to me is more suited to Pinots.
