This wine was found in my cellar and I got excited as I remember drinking it last winter before this blog started and had very good memories about it. It is nice aged wine which did not loose the freshness and has considerable minerality and lively acidity after 8 years of aging. Somehow the wines from Mikulov sub-appellation (chalk, and lime stone soil)can age really well. This is striking contrast to new world whites, which after 3 to 4 years are totaly gonne:). I checked my notes when we tasted the same variety and producer but 2003 vintage here. It is rather different wine, I guess mainly becasuse it is from different village and vineyard.
