Wine appellation: South Eastern Australia

Color: very deep blackish ruby red with garnet meniscus
Bouquet: quite fruity, blackberries, blueberries, black chocolate, alcohol slightly standing out
Taste: medium body, round, concentrated ripe forest fruit, mainly blackberries with blueberries, overripe black cherries followed by black chocolate  and very slight acidity (similar to ripe sour cherries)keeping it fresh
Recommended food pairing: BIG juicy steak
Overall score: 84
Price: CZK 140
Stopper: screw cap
This is quite full fruity fleshy style of Shiraz. Comparing to Hazard Hill Shiraz tasted about an hour ago here this Shiraz is much more fruity, rather straightforward wine and although it is 2005 vintage given the screw tap it is still quite fresh. I have scored Hazard Hill one point more, but it depends on personal preferences, Hazard Hill is more complex jammy, but lack the kick of Rosemount. Rosemount on the other hand offers initial full ripe berry character, but it can be quite boring after you shared a bottle.

  1. Rosemount is mass market while Hazard Hill is trying to be regional. I'm surprised you liked the Rosemount!
